The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD) announced the retirement of their Chief Engineer.

Boris Slogar retired on September 15th after 16 years of service. Slogar also served more than 30 years as an Ohio public servant with significant roles at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Ohio Department of Taxation.

Director of Marketing and Communications, Adria Bergeron, said Slogar was involved in several major projects during his time as Chief Engineer.

“He played a significant role working with US Army Corps of Engineers to ensure the safety of the dams and reservoirs within the Muskingum Watershed. In addition, to overseeing more than $150 million worth of master plan renovations and construction to the parks through our oil and gas program, as well as, the partners in watershed management program.”

Dave Lautenschleger, the Deputy Chief of Surveying and GIS for 14 years, will step into the role of Interim Chief Engineer while the search is conducted to fill the role.
