Nick McWilliams reporting – A school in the Garaway Local School District received national recognition recently.
Ragersville Elementary was recognized by the United States Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School for 2023, noting exemplary high performance.
In a release, Superintendent Dr. Jim Millet notes that the award puts Ragersville at the top of all schools in the U.S., calling it an “extraordinary achievement.”
Nominated by the Ohio Department of Education, the school reflected academic excellence, and achieved a high rate of closure on achievement gaps in its student body.
The program was established in 1982, and the award will be presented to administration in November in Washington D.C. at a Blue Ribbon ceremony.
