Gwen Rummell Reporting –

A photograph of a pair of cedar waxwings will be featured on the 2024 Ohio Wildlife Legacy Stamp.

The winning photograph was taken by Roni Leatherman of Rittman in Wayne County. Leatherman’s photo was chosen based on originality, composition, technical excellence, and overall beauty.

The 2023 Ohio Wildlife Legacy Stamp features a gray treefrog. The 2024 stamp with the song-birds will be available next spring online through Ohio’s Wildlife Licensing System, any location that sells hunting or fishing licenses, and on the HuntFish OH mobile app.

Fourteen dollars of every $15 Ohio Wildlife Legacy Stamp sold are invested in the state’s Wildlife Diversity Fund. A purchase of the stamp also includes a commemorative card and a window cling.

Ohio residents can enter the 16th annual Ohio Wildlife Legacy Stamp Contest next summer by submitting a photograph of a pollinator.
