Mary Alice Reporting –

A 29-year-old was transported to the Tuscarawas County Jail following a vehicle and foot chase.

Reports from the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office indicates that on Saturday, just before 4:30pm, a deputy observed a vehicle traveling faster than the posted speed limit. On State Route 36 speed is set at 55 but the driver was going 91 mph.

The deputy initiated his sirens and lights to initiate a traffic stop but the vehicle accelerated, and a pursuit began.

Ultimately, the driver, later identified as Jessica Redman, crashed on Frys Valley Road, just off of State Route 416. She exited the car and fled into a wooded area. After a short time period, Redman tried to exit the woods but was apprehended.
