Mary Alice Reporting –

Administration is working to keep the city of New Philadelphia clean by enforcing junk vehicle violations.

Mayor Joel Day previously told council about the action at a council meeting, as according to the code administrator, the number of calls reporting junk vehicles has increased over the past few months.

This will be done with a collaboration with the city’s police department and the code administrator.

“To identify and site the owners of junk vehicles as defined in the city’s codified ordinances. Those vehicles will be towed if necessary.”

“Junk car”, as per New Philadelphia ordinance, means “any used vehicle which is in an inoperable or partially dismantled condition, or not currently licensed. Portions of junk cars, such as hoods, fenders, radiators, rims, motors, etc., not being used for the repair of a motor vehicle, shall be considered as junk.”
