The organization’s stuff the bus event is at Wal-Mart Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the united way is asking for donations of back-to-school items for kids ages 3 to 5 in the HARCATUS head start program.

Director Brook Yager says that means not binders and notebooks, but more along the lines of pull-ups, crafts, cleaning and health items.

“Band aids, Clorox wipes, any cleaning products, or little things we need for arts and crafts. Maybe tissue paper, clothes pins, crayons, unscented wipes, or construction paper.”

Ohio’s sales tax holiday continues this weekend. Susan Reidenbach with the united way hopes that inspires shoppers to pick up a couple of extra tax-free items for the donation drive.

There are also 25 donation sites at area businesses and Dover and New Philadelphia city offices.
