Dennison’s fire chief says grease left unattended on a stove was to blame for a blaze
That fire significantly damaged a double-wide modular home in Mill Township Tuesday afternoon.
Dave McConnell says they were sent to the 85-hundred block of Latto Road southeast around 3:20 pm for an appliance fire that was quickly upgraded.
The fire was out in a matter of minutes, but it still gutted the residence because of the intense heat contained by the metal roofing and siding, with the damage estimate as much as $150 thousand.
Mcconnell says the 81-year-old man who lived at the home alone had family down the road he could stay with. He wasn’t injured. Uhrichsville and Warwick township firefighters also responded along with smith ambulance and the Tuscarawas County sheriff’s office.
