Tuscarawas County’s sheriff is sharing more details about his deputies’ response to a wedding reception where they arrested an allegedly intoxicated and confrontational man with a gun.
This was at enchanted acres on Midvale Mine Road southeast in Union Township after 11 pm Sunday night.
Sheriff Orvis Campbell says witnesses said the scuffle started after they attempted to prevent the suspect, a 21-year-old Akron man, from driving home drunk, but the suspect pulled out a pistol and said he was going to shoot those stopping him.
Two party guests held down the suspect until deputies arrived. Nobody was injured.
Campbell says the man is facing charges of disorderly conduct, aggravated menacing, and using weapons while intoxicated.
