The city of New Philadelphia is ready to get the public involved again in the process of updating its zoning laws.
Mayor Joel Day says the city’s planning commission is recommending that city council adopt the new zoning code written by Wendy Moeller of compass point planning, near Cincinnati. The code was developed by using feedback from an online survey last year.
Day says residents can learn more about it at a public hearing that will be scheduled for September 9th.
“Where Moeller will present the new code and take questions on it. From there it will go to council’s zoning and annexation committee, which will offer its own recommendation whether council should accept or reject the new code.”
Day says the last time the zoning code was updated in the city was 1987.
