George William Leeper, 83, of Dennison, Ohio, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, after a period of declining health. Born July 18, 1941 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Harry Patterson and Dorcas Lydia (Angus) Leeper.
George was a lifelong Dennison resident with the exception of three years while he proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy. Upon returning home from the military, he completed his schooling and was a 1963 graduate of Dennison High School. George was an auto mechanic for 25 years before working for Cable Manufacturing in Bolivar until his retirement. In his spare time, he loved woodworking, fishing, and bicycling.
On June 12, 1965, George married the former Rebecca Lou Snedeker with whom he enjoyed nearly 50 years of marriage until her passing on January 28, 2015. They are survived by three children, George (Mandy) Leeper, Crystal Leeper, and Chad (Amy) Leeper; six grandchildren, Lincoln (Rebecca) Leeper, Michael (Stephanie) McQuaid, Taylor Gibson, Trent (fiancée, Sierra Kramer) Leeper, Hope McQuaid, and Nick Leeper; and three great-grandchildren, Ava, Rayne, and Theo. George is also survived by his brother, Harry (Sandra, deceased) Leeper, and many nieces and nephews.
A private, family funeral service will be held at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Those wishing to honor George’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the American Cancer Society.
