The Tuscarawas Arts Partnership is getting ready to celebrate a big milestone.

Executive director Wilma Mullet met with the county commissioners on Monday to give an overview of all that has been accomplished since the organization’s inception in 2015.

In addition to establishing the bi-yearly art on the alley event in downtown New Philadelphia and an arts summer camp for Mayan and Latino students, tap has celebrated 86 graduating seniors and seven educators, given out 19 grants, and spearheaded 21 public art projects.

Mullet says activities will be taking place throughout the community in 2025 for tap’s 10th birthday beginning February 12th with a kickoff party at the daily grind cafe.

The theme of next year’s celebration is ‘arts yet to be imagined!’

“We want to leave space and set the stage for other opportunities to happen in the arts because we’re only on organization. We can only accomplish so much but we know that there’s so many ideas that can step in and people to be able to help fill roles or meet the needs of another area of our community.”

Mullet attributes the organization’s success to ‘all of the hands and minds involved’ including board and committee members, partnering artists, and sponsors. For more information or to make a monetary donation, visit www.tuscarawasartspartnership.org.
