Barbara Jean Renner, 80, of Dover, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 6, 2024, in her home after a brief diagnosis with Glioblastoma.

Born in Dennison on March 19, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Gertrude (Cecil) Triplett.

Barb’s high school class was the last to graduate at the former Uhrichsville High School in 1962. She began working after graduation, first at Williams Optical in Uhrichsville and then for the former Warner & Swasey in New Philadelphia before beginning her 25-year tenure with Dover City Schools as both a bus driver and kindergarten aide.

While employed with the Dover City Schools, she also owned and operated Second Time Around, alongside her good friend, Suzie Beatty. They operated this secondhand clothing store in Dover for more than 20 years. In “retirement”, Barb kept busy working at Benson’s Market as well as serving as a Geib hostess in their hospitality centers for 12 years.

On August 13, 2024, Barb celebrated 57 years of marriage to her husband, Jerry. Together, they enjoyed camping with the Tusco Traveliers and Good Sam Roadrunners Club Chapter 70. Their faith was nurtured at the First United Methodist Church in Dover, too. Most importantly, Barb was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She followed her family in their activities throughout her lifetime.

She leaves behind her husband, Jerry of Dover; sons, Steve (Dawn) Renner of Dover and Terry (Beth) Renner of New Philadelphia; daughter, Tina Steck; grandchildren, Taylor Koop Lantz, Alexis Renner, Zackery Steck, Kristi (Dylan) Steiner, Deann Steck, Nick Andrews, and Josie (Houston) Montgomery; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ronald (Karen) Triplett and Ethel “Sis” Armstrong; sister-in-law, Stephanie (Richard) Hathorn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in passing by her brothers, Raymond, Richard, Harry, Francis “Butch” Triplett; sister, Nancy Rainsberg; and brothers-in-law, Roger and Daniel Renner.

Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center, 5600 N. Wooster Ave., Dover on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 11 am to 1 p.m. A service will begin at 1 p.m. with burial to follow in Ridgecrest Memorial Gardens.
