James Edward Coventry, 98, of Uhrichsville passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on October 23, 2024, at Park Village Southside. Born January 19, 1926, in Uhrichsville, he was a son of the late Orville and Edith (Martin) Coventry. 

Jim attended Uhrichsville High School. He was a utility worker at Union Camp until his retirement, he then went on to be a driver for Vitreo Retinal until he was 87 years old.  Jim and his wife were avid square dancers with The Star Promenaders, having served as President and traveling all over the United States. He was also very active in his church, Uhrichsville First Methodist Church. Jim will always be remembered for his love of keeping the “perfect yard” and selling Christmas trees.

On February 26, 1947 he married the former Mary Louise Skaer who preceded him in death on May 12, 2015. They are survived by their children, Debra (George) Krahel, Mark (Monica) Coventry, Keren (Dennis) Ames, Jay Coventry, and Robb (Jody) Coventry; grandchildren, Chevelle, Cameron, Brian, Derek, Nathan, Kady, Nicholas, Kasi, Karli, Hannah, Dillon, and Nicole; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dennis (Phyllis) Coventry.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by 10 siblings and a daughter-in-law, April Coventry.

Services for Jim, officiated by Rob Murry, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held two hours prior, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. Memorial contributions may be made to Uhrichsville First Methodist Church.
