Margaret Nagy, 89, of Sugarcreek, passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, following a period of declining health.

She was born in Cleveland on March 22, 1935, to the late Herbert C. and Leverne (Thomas) Wells and married George Nagy on May 21, 1955.  He died on August 22, 2021.

Margaret and her husband, George, were the former owners of Dutch Host Motel in Sugarcreek. They owned and operated the motel for 12 1/2 years and then continued to assist the current owners over the years.

She was a member of the Sugarcreek Church of the Brethren and served the church as pianist and organist over the years. She was a member of the former Sugarcreek Lioness Club, Sugarcreek Business Association and was a volunteer at the Alpine Hills Museum. Margaret had a love for horse and had a collection of over 200 figurines.

She is survived by her children, Carol (Tim) Simpson of Empire, OH, Alan Nagy of Jacksonville, FL, Wayne (Kimberly) Nagy of Alachua, FL, and Diana (Chris) Farris of Columbia Station, OH; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; and her brother, Art (Mary) Wells of Elyria.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother Don (Betty) Wells.

In keeping with Margaret’s wishes, cremation will take place and no services will be held.
