Beverly Sue (Grubbs) Berger, age 80 of Newcomerstown, passed away on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 in Dayton, OH. She was born on July 30, 1944, in Cambridge, OH, to the late Russell and Ruth Grubbs.

On June 21, 1961, she married her husband, John Henry Berger, who passed away on May 7, 2013. She was a 1962 graduate of Newcomerstown High School. She was the Cherry Pie baking champ. She worked at Sonja Ann Dress Shop in Newcomerstown, Shaw Barton, and Revco/CVS pharmacy tech for 23 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Newcomerstown and Kettering.

Mom and Dad enjoyed traveling, fishing, and Arizona, wintering there for several years in Maricopa. She loved making holiday candy, Artex painting and making quilts for her family, and spending time with her best friend Edith Marquand. She also liked watching Dr. Pimple Popper and shopping. Mom and Edith took Vickie and Jim on summer vacations to Hershey Park, Storybook Forest, Idlewild Park, and Cedar Point. She loved Elvis’s music and Dad would sing his songs to her.

She is survived by her children, Vickie (Dana) Clark; James (Christina) Berger; grandchildren, David, Jennifer, and John Brubaker, Andrew Berger (Cortney), Morgan Berger (Josh), Patrick Berger (Sierra), Russell Berger (Sarah); step-grandchildren, Savanna and Sacha Clark; great-grandchildren, Ryan Green, Breanna Green (Jose), Wyatt and Milo Berger, Nate and Tiffany Hudson; great-great-granddaughter, Iris Solivan. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, David and John Grubbs; son-in-law, Matt Amos; mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Maxine Berger. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown with Russell Whyde officiating. Burial will follow at Northwood Cemetery in Cambridge, OH. Visitation will take place prior to the service on Saturday from 11 to 1 at the funeral home.
