Some older students at Tuscarawas Central Catholic Elementary are heading out with rakes after school today to serve others in need.

Principal Jessica Debois says fifth and sixth graders in the school’s principal advisory committee have chosen leaf-raking as a community service project for neighbors requesting the work today.

Debois says the club has a history of service, including giving time for soup drives and food kitchens.

Debois says people wanting their yards raked were asked to call the school and leave their name and address.
