Wanted Local Ohio Stories for History Exhibit at State Fair Building Dennison Railroad Depot Museum

November 18

The Ohio History Connection is planning a statewide tour over the next few weeks to gather feedback from all corners of the state for an upcoming exhibit in the Ohio Showcase building at the Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds. The Ohio Showcase building is part of the Expo 2050 Master Plan and is expected to open in 2026. When completed, it will feature dining and event space as well as Ohio’s Story, a featured history exhibit space developed by the Ohio History Connection. The experience will be accessible to visitors during the annual Ohio State Fair and other major events at the Ohio Expo Center. To determine the Ohio history stories to be featured in the space’s media and traditional exhibits, Ohio History Connection Executive Director and CEO Megan Wood will lead a series of input sessions at five sites throughout the state in November and December. The scope of content for the exhibit includes four themes: Land, People, Innovation and Communities. These themes will reflect stories throughout the state and be representative of multiple time periods, from the earliest communities on the land that became Ohio to the state’s most recent generations. Monday, Nov. 18 Dennison Railroad Depot Museum, 400 Center St., Dennison/Uhrichsville No fees or tickets are required to attend these input sessions, but RSVPs are requested via email to tauerbach@ohiohistory.org. Coffee and pastries will be provided. For more information, go to ohiohistory.org/showcase.
