Z Country and The Voice of The Valley are joining forces to help brighten the holiday season for local families.
Here at WTUZ, we’re collecting new, unwrapped toys for the local Share-A-Christmas program today from 8 am to 4 pm. T4C oversees the initiative that’s its 49th year. Executive Director Leslie Booth says it has taken on a life of its own.
“Pretty much all of the schools in Tuscarawas County and surrounding areas, they are collecting toys, different organizations, churches, businesses. We have so much backing with this program, it’s unbelievable.”
Over on the Boulevard in Dover, Indian Valley FFA members will be out in the WJER parking lot today from 7 am to 6 pm accepting toys and monetary donations on a drive-up basis.
“They host the toy drive for us, and then they come down and they sort the toys for us. They do what we call the shopping where they sort them and put them so when each family comes in it’s a drive-thru. They even help with distribution day.”
Over 400 families with more than 800 children are participating in the program and will also receive clothing vouchers and holiday food baskets. Toys are needed for boys and girls ages 1 to 10.
