The Tuscarawas County Emergency Management Agency is coordinating some escapes from the frigid weather and wind chills for those in need.
Director Jennifer James says people without home heating or anywhere else to go can head to public library locations throughout the county Thursday, as they’ve agreed to serve as warming centers.
James says the EMA is also telling everyone to be cautious with any snow out there, as the winds and snow squalls could impact visibility.
The Dover/New Philadelphia Salvation Army and the Tuscarawas County YMCA are also operating as warming centers during business hours. Folks can also go to grocery stores or New Towne Mall.
