William D. “Don” Anderson, 74, of New Philadelphia went into the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Ohio’s Hospice Truman House.

He was born on May 5, 1950, in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late William C. Anderson and Mildred Neer Anderson. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Cristopher Koniski.

Don enjoyed a fulfilling career, retiring in 2017 from Novelis in Uhrichsville after 17 years of dedicated service. His work experience also included positions at AK Steel in Dover and the Y & O Mine #2. Don was a devoted minister with the Foursquare Gospel Church in Cambridge, and serving as an assistant at both the Dover and Dennison Foursquare Churches. In addition to his professional and spiritual contributions, Don was an avid gardener and was also a certified scuba diver for the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department for many years.

Family was the cornerstone of Don’s life. He celebrated 53 loving years of marriage to his wife, Linda Merryman Anderson, whom he married on October 10, 1971. Together, they raised their daughter, Tess Anderson, of Cleveland. He is also survived by his brothers, John (Janice) Anderson of Dalton and Rich (Anne) Anderson of Jewett. Don was a proud uncle, with special affection for his niece, Carman Koniski, and his nephews, Matthew (Jessie) Anderson, Todd (Samantha) Anderson, Brian (Angela) Anderson, and Marc Anderson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 20th starting at 11:00 am in the Dennison Foursquare Gospel Church with Pastors Rod Phillips, David Wing and Mick Foster officiating. Interment will be in the Schoenbrunn Meadow Cemetery. The family will be greeting friends on Friday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dennison Foursquare Gospel Church at PO Box 142 Dennison, Ohio 44621.
