Outgoing Ohio democratic U.S. senator Sherrod Brown is vowing to keep standing up for the American worker.

That was the theme as brown, who lost to republican Bernie Moreno in November’s election, delivered his final floor speech this week.

Brown says he’s happy with what he helped accomplish in his 18 years in the senate, such as fighting what he calls bad trade deals.

He also highlighted his personal drive to save pensions.

Brown also became teary as he thanked his wife, journalist Connie Schultz.

Brown closed by saying this wouldn’t be the last time people hear from him, fueling speculation the 72-year-old could be considering a run for governor, or Ohio’s other U.S. senate seat, in 2026.
