Shari K. (Finley) George, age 68, of New Philadelphia, passed away, following a long illness, on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born October 11, 1956, in Dover, the daughter of the late Francis Finley and Dorothy Aschbacher Janson. Shari graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1975 and later returned to school graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Kent State University. She was employed by H-P Products in Louisville for 27 years, and had previously worked for Allied Baltic Rubber and Handy & Harman in Dover. Shari married David B. “Dave” George, who survives, on July 2, 1998. Some of her favorite pastimes were doing needlework, genealogical research and going camping with her family.
Shari will be dearly missed by her husband, Dave; her daughter, Tiffini (Michael) Gaskill of New Philadelphia; her step-son, Damien George of Wilmot; her granddaughters, of whom she was very proud, Madison and Jo; her step-grandchildren, Alexis, Devin and Daminique; her sister and brother, Rebecca (David) Graff and Michael (Lori) Finley, both of New Philadelphia; and her nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Sunday, December 22, 2 – 4 p.m. Shari will be cremated and a graveside service will be held in the spring in New Philadelphia’s Schoenbrunn Meadow Cemetery, the date and time of which will be announced on this website.
