The Strasburg fire department now has a new apparatus.

Chief Jason Ely says their new pumper-tanker arrived at the station on December 12th. The staff has been learning to drive the truck that still needs to go into the shop for equipment mounting. Ely says the goal is to have it in service sometime in March.

This will replace the department’s 1998 tanker and an engine that’s around the same age.

The village in 2022 sold another aging fire engine for 35-thousand dollars.

Officials put that money toward the more than 800-thousand-dollar pumper tanker and are financing the remainder.
