The Tuscarawas County Commissioners have approved a change to water and sewer for the next year.

Tuscarawas County Metropolitan Director Mike Jones laid out the five prevent increase, which is based upon recommendations.

“Typical water rate, based upon the new rate structure would be $49.53 per month, sewer rate would be $46.89 per month.  Five-eighths inch meter, that’s your residential meter, so base charge, that’s if you don’t use any water, $21.31 [currently] and then $22.38 in 2025. Every thousand gallon is currently $5.65 and in 2025 would go to $5.93.”

The effective date is January 1st.

Jones noted over the next year, the district would take a comprehensive look into billing details, such as how they charge different customers groups.
