State troopers at the New Philadelphia post responded to a couple of weather-related crashes on the interstate as another round of snow came through Tuesday.
Sgt. Clinton Armstrong says one involved a Newcomerstown woman who was taken to the hospital for minor injuries after crashing her car shortly after 3 pm near Port Washington.
Armstrong says she will be cited for driving too fast for the conditions.
“On interstate 77, the driver was southbound, went off the right-side of the road struck a guardrail and traveled back onto the road and off the left side and struck the raised median embankment.”
The other crash happened in the evening on 77 north between Strasburg and Bolivar when a semi jackknifed, forcing crews to partially shut down the interstate. The truck driver from North Carolina was traveling well below the speed limit, 25 in a 70 mph zone.
Armstrong says that driver was not injured. He was cited for failure to control. No other vehicles were involved.
