One person sustained serious injuries following a Monday crash that shut down State Route 39 and Red Hill Road for three hours.

Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol were notified shortly before 7am. According to a release, a 2010 Chevrolet HHR was westbound on Red Hill Road and approaching the SR 39 intersection.

The 31-year-old Uhrichsville driver did not halt at the stop sign and traveled into the path of a semi-truck.

The impact spun the Chevy into the semi-trailer. Both vehicles ended off the side of the road.

The Uhrichsville man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time and was seriously injured. Dover EMS transported him to Mercy Hospital.

The 58-year-old semi-driver, from Massillon, was not injured.

The investigation continues.
