Dover firefighters say a small fire in the wall space of a home just after midnight this morning resulted in about seven thousand dollars in damage.

Captain Joe Minocchi says a man living at the home – who suffered slight smoke inhalation but declined treatment– called 9-1-1 around 12:15 a.m.

“He noticed that there was some flickering of power, and he lost partial power, or something, in a room that he was in. he started investigating to see what was going on and that’s when he found it.”

Minocchi says firefighters found fire in the wall in a second-story bathroom, which extended into the floor above.

The cause of the Superior Avenue blaze is being listed as electrical. Firefighters were on scene about 90 minutes in all.

New Philadelphia’s department assisted.
