Uhrichsville’s Fire Department made Wednesday’s deadline to get two levies on the primary ballot.
Council held a special Monday meeting for the resolutions dealing with the fire equipment and EMS levy.
Chief Justin Edwards stresses to voters that this is not a tax increase.
“It’s all the same millage, everything. Be the fire truck and equipment levy and the emergency medical service levy. Both would be renewals. It’s all the same millage, everything.”
He says the 2.85-mil EMS levy was first voted on in 2000.
“Those are funds that we’ve relied on for 25 years for the EMS levy and it’s never increased to my knowledge in that amount of time, and I’m not asking for an increase.”
Voters have approved the fire truck and equipment levy, at 2-mil, since 2010.
