Marsha Ridenour – February 10, 2025

Marsha Ridenour, 78, of Stone Creek, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Oak Pointe Nursing Home in Baltic following a period of declining health.

She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 31, 1947 to the late John D. and Gloria (Leggett) Baumgardner and married Kenneth John “Ken” Ridenour on June 9, 1966.  He survives.

She graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1966. She was a member of the Salem Evans Creek Lutheran Church, taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years. Marsha served as President of WELCA and also served as secretary. She was a member of the Bakersville Quest Club, Evans Creek Home Makers and was coordinator of the North East Ohio Syndical Women’s Organization for two terms. She also enjoyed reading, card making, and scrap booking. But most of all she enjoyed being with family and watching her grandchildren in all their activities.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Laura (Rick) Hoffman, John (Elizabeth) Ridenour and Ben (Fran) Ridenour; grandchildren, Bryce and Brenna Hoffman, Natasha Price, Josh Price, Derek, Cassidy, Clarissa and Dominic Ridenour and Teddy; her brother John (Nancy) Baumgardner; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by mother and father-in-law John S. and Venetta (Beaber) Ridenour; granddaughter Alexis Ridenour; grandson Tyler Ridenour; and her brother Greg Leggitt.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 12:00 PM (Noon) at the Salem Evans Creek Lutheran Church with Pastor Rod McBride officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.  Friends may call on Saturday from 11-12 (Noon) prior to services at the Church. A reception following services will be held in the Salem Evans Creek Social Hall.   Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
