Roger L. Kerns, 74, of Malvern, passed away on February 13, 2025, in Carroll Healthcare Center.
Born in Dover on July 8, 1950, he was the son of the late James Franklin Kerns, Jr. and Florence Minnie (Smart) Knight
After completing his formal education, he served in the US Army from 1969 to 1972. Professionally, he served with Republic Steel for 25 years and McIntyre Plumbing for 12 years prior to retirement.
He loved to fish and attend auctions and car shows.
Roger is survived by his children, Jason (Magen) Kerns of Columbus, Angela Kerns of Lima, Albert John (Melinda) Kerns of Malvern; grandchildren, Kallie, Madison, Brennan, Patience, Jayden, Adrienne, Jaxon, Melia, Kayla, Damitrea, Cannisha, Aalyiah; siblings, Rosie Freetag of Killbuck and Nancy Hopkins of Minerva; step-siblings, Brian (Kim) Knight of Milton, Florida and Buddy Knight of New Philadelphia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by his step-father, William J. Knight, Sr.; and siblings, Delmer Kerns, Sr., James Kerns, Jr. and Virginia James.
No public visitation or services are scheduled at this time.
