Some more details have come out about the plane involved in the crash that killed the pilot who was flying solo Tuesday near Midvale.

State patrol New Philadelphia Post Commander Lt. Johnnie Maier says it was registered to Bird’s Eye View Inc., out of New Mexico, and was apparently kept at a hangar at the New Philadelphia airport.

It’s still early in the investigation and it could take a while to learn why the plane crashed and the identity of the victim.

Maier says local planes also don’t have the same tracking and data records that are kept for commercial flights.

“Although the tail and number does give us some information the information that’s gathered on commercial airlines it’s there for these small Cessna’s. This particular aircraft was only a six person and had two engines so a very small plane.”

It’s unknown if the pilot was heading anywhere or just in the air practicing.

The Federal Aviation Administration arrived Wednesday morning and the National Transportation Safety Board has now taken over the crash site.
