The safety director for the City of New Philadelphia was able to introduce himself and his goals.
Kevin Milligan was sworn in at the end of March and attended Monday’s council meeting. Part of his report honored longtime safety director Greg Popham, who passed away last month.
Milligan says he’s already met with the police and fire chiefs to discuss their success and challenges. He does want to create a recruitment and retention strategy and a five-year operational plan.
Milligan’s prior experience includes time as a state trooper and a New Philadelphia firefighter/paramedic.
