South Tuscarawas Avenue in Dover near the New Philadelphia border reopened Friday afternoon after crews replaced a utility pole following a crash.

According to police reports, a woman crashed a red Honda into a utility pole at the corner of Howe Street and South Tuscarawas early Friday morning. The impact cracked the pole near the base and left the Honda on its side, missing a tire, with the airbags deployed.

Police say the woman was okay except for a minor facial injury due to the airbag deployment. South Tuscarawas Avenue was closed for several hours as crews replace the cracked utility pole with a new one.

There were a significant number of wires connected to the pole, along with a streetlight, which complicated the work.
