The Tuscarawas County Democratic Party Central Committee picked David Callender as the replacement for Michael DiDonato, who withdrew his name following the May primary.
Callender joins four other candidates seeking three Dover Council-at-Large seats. They are Democrat incumbent Perci Garner, Republican incumbent John Correll, and Republican challengers David Jones and Zachary Wallick. Council woman Julie Leggett is not running for another term. Callender is a local business owner and a married father of five.
Callender was one of two candidates to express interest in the Council seat. Mark Incarnato was the other.
