Paddlers of all skill levels will be out on the water in Dover for recreation and competition this weekend.
The 11th Tuscarawas River Canoe and Kayak Race is Saturday morning, starting and finishing at Canal Dover Park near the Wooster Avenue bridge.
Race Director Mary Jo Monte-Kaser says there’s a 10-mile race for more experienced paddlers and then a three-mile race, which she feels is a good entry level distance.
Registration starts Saturday at 8am and it’s $25 for adults and $15 for kids 17 and under. There is a mandatory racer meeting at 9:30, and the 10-mile race begins at 10am followed by the 3-mile about 15 minutes later.
