
Charges are pending for a 44-year-old man who is accused of shooting at his ex-girlfriend.
On Sunday at 6:40am, the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office was notified by Uhrichsville Police of a woman reporting she had been shot by her ex-boyfriend on Edie Hill Road. She was bleeding from the head and was taken to a hospital.
Detectives went to several locations reportedly involved with the incident. Based on the victims’ statement, she was driving on the Mill Township Road when the suspect blocked her path, got out of his vehicle, and began shooting at her. Multiple bullets hit her car.
A “be on the lookout” was issued for the man’s F-150. At around 7:20am Cadiz police spotted the truck on US 22. The man was detained and eventually taken into custody without incident.
A search warrant was executed on the suspect’s home and firearms, ammunition, and other evidence was located.
The man is currently being held at the Tuscarawas County Jail on a protection order violation. The prosecutor’s office will review the case for other potential charges.
UPDATE – Late Monday morning, Sheriff Campbell released that charges have been filed against Carl E. Reynolds, 44, of Feed Springs Road SE.
Initial charges include counts of attempted aggravated murder, felonious assault, retaliation, menacing by stalking, and violating a protection order. Some counts carry firearm specifications. Reynolds will be arraigned at the Tuscarawas County Southern District Court.
