An arraignment date has been scheduled for Uhrichsville’s former mayor, who’s accused of improper reimbursements.
The Auditor of State’s Special Investigation Unit launched an investigation in January 2024 following complaints alleging Mark Haney received reimbursements for meals, milage, and other purchases made using the city credit cards. Haney served as the city’s mayor from 2019 to 2023.
The Tuscarawas County Grand Jury handed down the indictment against Haney, on two felony counts of tampering with records, one felony count of theft in office, and a misdemeanor of accepting or receiving unlawful compensation, according to a release from the Ohio Auditor’s Office.
Haney is scheduled for arraignment on August 13th in Tuscarawas County Common Pleas Court.
