The non-profit organization NPACT, or New Philadelphia Advancing Our Community Together, is explains the different ways it tries to drive project that enhance the city.

Chairman Jim Knisely says the group took the place of the former New Philadelphia Business and Community Association but has expanded on that mission focusing on safety, parking, supporting the arts and new businesses, addressing empty storefronts, and planning as many activities as possible.

Knisley says they’ve had some success early on in attracting businesses to town.

NPACT was behind creating the DORA area and having the commissioners open up county office building lots to public parking on nights and weekends. They’ve has some fundraisers and activities do far including a pancake breakfast and a vintage flea market. More information can be found at NewPhilaGuide.com.
