The City of New Philadelphia’s Health Commissioner is talking how things are going in her first month on the job.
Nichole Bache took over following Vickie Ionno’s retirement. Bache says it’s been a transition from her Nursing Director position with the health department.
“It’s early in my role but I’m really excited to take it on and keep moving New Philadelphia Health Department forward. We have an amazing staff in place right now. I know I wouldn’t be able to continue pushing the health department forward without that staff behind me.”
Ionno served as health commissioner for 14 years and Bache was the department’s previous Director of Nursing. They have since hired someone to fill that position.
“We’ve named Maegan Cummings as our new Director of Nursing. She was our public health nurse prior, so she’s moved up in position and she’s doing a fabulous job.”
As for Bache she says her new role is a lot more meetings and paperwork, but she plans to have a visible presence in the community.
