Motorists will see another traffic pattern shift Friday night as work continues on the McCauley Drive intersection.
The work at McCauley and US 250 is entering the next phase of concrete replacement for the center lane sections.
Ohio Department of Transportation District 11 Public Information Office Lauren Borell says the contractor will start updating the traffic pattern at 7pm and it will take several hours to complete.
“Will not be able to cross over 250 to make it from one side of McCauley Drive to the other; however, we will maintain a right-in, right-out only from US 250 to McCauley Drive, and then additionally we will not have no left turns.”
This setup is part of an accelerated plan to minimize future disruptions as doing all middle lanes together will save up to four weeks of additional traffic impact phases.
Borell adds that motorists should expect delays and encourages drivers to watch out for lane closures and accompanying traffic pattern signage.
“It’s just very important that you’re paying attention, avoiding any distractions so that way you can safely make it through this intersection. All the signs are in place to help you safely navigate through this intersection and we just need folks to keep that in mind.”
Barricades will be up to help traffic navigate, but there is a plan in place for emergency vehicles to get through barrels at the intersection in the event of an emergency.
