Uhrichsville’s fire chief says a late Sunday afternoon fire in the 300 block of East High Street left three people with injuries – including a firefighter.
Justin Edwards says two people living at the home were taken to area hospitals. No updates were available on their conditions or extent of injuries, and he believes the firefighter suffered from heat exhaustion and should be okay.
Edwards says the fire was out in about 20 minutes, but they were on scene for about four hours in all of overhaul and to investigate. Damage was extensive.
It appears the fire started in the kitchen. It appears accidental but the State Fire Marshal’s Office was requested.
Edwards says a medical helicopter was contacted but couldn’t respond due to the weather. Dennison, New Philadelphia, Dover, Warwick township, and Arrowhead Joint Fire District firefighters also responded.
