Patricia A. (Hammond) Wise, 82, of New Philadelphia passed away at Ohio’s Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia on Sunday, July 27, 2025 following a brief illness.
Born on December 5, 1942 in Bellaire, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Orin Aubrey and Elinor May (McCabe) Hammond and graduated from Bellaire High School in 1960. She married Robert E. Wise on June 20, 1964. He passed on September 20, 2020.
Patricia was employed by the Tuscarawas County Ag Society as secretary/treasurer, USDA Tuscarawas County Farm Service Agency as program assistant, and as a member of Ragersville United Church of Christ was secretary and treasurer. Pat and Bob enjoyed traveling with family and friends, especially to the island of Aruba. They greatly enjoyed following the kids and grandkids to their events.
She is survived by her daughters Lynne Wise and Leanne J. (Michael) Helmke, both of New Philadelphia; grandchildren Landon and McKalynne (Andrew Lyle) Helmke, Kameron (Clinton) Steel; great granddaughters Aubree Jayne, Lainee Sue, Josiee Michelle Steel; sister-in-law Glenda Wise of Baltic; and extended family and neighbors Sam, Jolene, Kaine and Karson Otte.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Wise; son and daughter-in-law Todd and Stacee Wise; grandson Neil Wise; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Tom and Loretta Day; and brother-in-law Tom Wise.
A public graveside service for Patricia will be held at the Ragersville Cemetery on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor LuAnn Youngman officiating.
