The United Way and HARCATUS are collecting school supplies for preschoolers Friday and Saturday.
The “Stuff the Bus” event will be at Walmart from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
Hannah Hartman with the United Way of Tuscarawas County says the timing coincides with the Ohio Sales Tax Holiday when shoppers don’t have to pay sales tax on most items.
There will be a school bus at Walmart and collection boxes at many local businesses. Brooke Yager with HARCATUS helps get the donations to children ages 3 to 5 in the Head Start program with incomes at or below the federal poverty level.
Yager says if you don’t feel like shopping for school supplies for preschoolers, they will also accept cash and check donations.
