The New Philadelphia VFW Post 1445 is again providing teachers with some of what they need to get their classrooms ready for the new school year.
Commander Steve Chenevey says the post is having its annual teachers supply day Saturday where free items are given to Tuscarawas County teachers for basic necessities that some students may need.
It’s the 8th year for the distribution. Chenevey says it runs 10 to 2 pm Saturday but has ended earlier in the past because they run out.
Chenevey says they’re giving away two-thousand dollars’ worth of school supplies to teachers Saturday, made possible through VFW gaming and fundraisers.
