Dunkin’ is the next national restaurant chain planning a store in Tuscarawas County.

Terry Everett with the Infinity Representatives real estate company says the coffee and donut chain is buying the former Long John Silver’s property on Bluebell Drive in New Philadelphia.

“I just finalized the deal Tuesday morning. They’ll be some jobs and tax revenue, and it’s definitely having something there that people like. It’s better than having an empty building.”

Dunkin’ is working with city official to make sure everything is in order. He anticipates the restaurant will need several months to remodel before being ready to open.

This is the latest in a string of recent announcements of fast-food chains coming to the area, following Taco Bell in north Dover and Chick Fil A in New Philadelphia. The city also recently celebrated the opening of the Pilot Brewhouse by the Harry Clever Field airport.
