The Tuscarawas County Community Foundation this week announced nearly 1.25 million dollars in grants to 40 area nonprofit organizations.
The recipients of foundation grants ranged from the Union Hospital Cancer Center to playgrounds in Dover and New Philadelphia.
Executive Director Scott Robinson says the amount of money the foundation gives out continues to grow annually.
The Dr. Leslie S. Harrold Community Fund distributed nearly $860,000 to Ohio’s Hospice, the Salvation Army and student scholarships. The late Dr. Harrold was a founder of the local Hospice organization and created the fund to benefit causes important to her.
Other funds under the Community Foundation umbrella include the Max T. and Erma Miller Donor-Advised Fund, the AAA Tuscarawas County Donor-Advised Fund and the Dennison Community Fund.
