The Tuscarawas County Health Department will spray for mosquitoes on Monday in Wayne Township after more mosquitoes tested positive for West Nile virus.

The mosquitoes were collected in Warwick Township and Wayne Township. The department already sprayed for mosquitoes in Warwick last week.

The spraying in Wayne Township will take place from 8 to 11 p.m. Monday, weather permitting.

Health officials say mosquitoes test positive for West Nile virus every year in Tuscarawas County, and it’s no reason to be overly concerned. Spraying is also scheduled for Thursday night in areas of New Philadelphia after four mosquito samples tested positive for West Nile in that city.

People with respiratory problems should try to remain indoors during spraying. They can also submit a no-spray request to the County Health Department.
