Tuscarawas County deputies had a tough time arresting a 25-year-old Lawrence Township woman on Saturday.
She was wanted on a theft warrant out of Start County. Deputies located her on Hess Mill Road Northeast in Bolivar. She attempted to flee on foot but was caught. The arresting deputy suffered minor skin abrasions and a minor leg injury.
Then the female told law enforcement she had just consumed fentanyl and started to overdose. Officers administered Naloxone and she regained consciousness. On the way to the hospital, she tried to kick and bite a Dover Fire Captain, who wasn’t injured.
The 25-year-old is now being held in the Tuscarawas County Jail on the previous warrant and new misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, obstructing official business and disorderly conduct.
She pleaded not guilty Monday morning, and a judge set bail on the new charges at $2,500.
