Patricia Lunsford, age 87, formerly of New Philadelphia and Bolivar passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton.
Born on May 31, 1938, in Braceville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Sherman A. and Helen G. (Chapman) Glass.
Patricia graduated from Champion High School in 1956. After graduation she worked at a pool where she fell in love with her future husband Frank. After moving to Tuscarawas County, Patricia was employed as a supervisor for J.C. Penney’s for over 24 years.
In her free-time, she enjoyed watching Hallmark Movies, but most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was known as a fantastic cook and loved cooking and baking for her family and friends. Patricia also loved her many cats that she adopted through the years.
On November 29, 1957, she married the love of her life, Francis “Frank” Lunsford, with whom she spent 53 years before his passing on February 8, 2011. Together they raised four loving children, Pam Justice, Paul Lunsford, Pauline (Mark) Fenton, and Dale (Kendall) Lunsford PhD, all of whom survive.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Tiffany Justice, John “JJ” Justice, Kiersten (Chad) Rowland, Devon Fenton, Brian (Mandy) Pachin, Emily Diaz and Amanda (Shane) Steele; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and a sister, Donna Humenik.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Kay Lunsford; son-in-law, John Justice; and brother, Robert Glass.
Family will receive friends on Thursday August 21, 2025, in Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory at 116 Second Street NE, New Philadelphia from 10:00 to 11am where a service will be held at 11:00 am with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Burial will take place in Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia immediately following.
