Uhrichsville administration continues to work on projects and encourages citizens to get involved.

At the latest meeting, administrative assistant Bonnie Coventry was given approval to spearhead a couple of activities.

“Some of the things I’m proposing are fun things and one is a Dog Days of Summer event that I’d like to plan at the waterpark for the end of the season, and it’s just where the community can bring their canine friends to the park and get in the pool, get some frisbees, and just have a fun day before we have to drain the water park.”

Dog Days will be on Sunday, August 31st from 6:30 to 8:30pm. All canines must have proof of current rabies vaccination, and a waiver must be signed. Owners must have control of their dogs with leashes removed when in the water. Cost is $5 per dog or a $2.50 with a donation to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society, such as dry/canned dog or cat food, lightly used blankets, cat litter, or other items.

Coventry is also planning an evening event, at the park, for community members to meet their council representative.

“What I would like to do is kind of have a meet and greet with all of the council persons at the park. Come down and meet their council person, get to know them, give them comments, ideas, things like that. It would be an evening thing.”

A date is in the works.

Looking ahead to Christmas and with the parade starting in the city, Coventry is planning activities.

“I want to do it up big so I’m asking for help and support from everyone. I’ve got lots of ideas.”

Anyone wanting to get involved is encouraged to reach out to Coventry at cityadmin@cityofuhrichsville.org or by calling 740-507-5970.
